1. Make sure carbon monoxide and smoke alarm batteries are changed at least two times per year.
2. Don't run cars, snow blowers or leaf blowers in the garage. This will prevent carbon monoxide build up in the house.
3. Check all heating units before the cold months come to prevent false carbon monoxide alarms.
